INTEGRATIVE THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Brooke blends several massage techniques into each session based on your symptoms and goals.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a healing technique that utilizes gentle yet powerful manual techniques on the connective tissue, fascia. CST improves the function of the nervous system. When the central nervous system functions well, muscles relax, circulation improves, and pain and swelling decrease. CST can release soft tissue restrictions, pain, and emotional holding patterns. It is very effective at relieving symptoms caused by whiplash, concussions, and other traumatic injuries.
Myofascial Release (MFR) uses specific techniques to stretch and repair the connective issue between your muscles and organs (fascia). It helps your body heal properly from injuries and can restore range of motion. Myofascial techniques are applied without the use of oil to areas with adhesions and fascial restrictions to relieve acute or chronic tension and pain. This style of bodywork can create deep and lasting structural changes and relieve deep emotional pain.
I ask that you bring shorts and a sports bra or something you feel comfortable being assessed in and getting treatment in if you wish to have primarily MFR.
Massage during pregnancy has many benefits for mother and baby. Massage therapy decreases maternal blood pressure, heart and respiratory rates. Increases blood supply to enhance overall fetal, reproductive, and mental health. Reduces swelling and relieves aches and pain associated with pregnancy. Brooke uses a side-lying and/or semi reclined position for your comfort.
Our bodies go through massive change being pregnant, giving birth, and the years after delivery. I enjoy working with women post-partum on releasing fascial restrictions in the pelvis, rebalancing the position of the pelvis, and releasing upper body tension from holding baby for hours and hours everyday.
